Five bold predictions for the Cleveland Browns in Week 10 vs. Houston

Half of the season is in the books as the 5-3 Cleveland Browns just finished their Week 9 bye and are ready to take the field again this coming Sunday. On tap for them in Week 10 is a game vs. the Houston Texans.

When the 2020 schedule was released, this looked as though it would be a tough game considering Houston was a playoff team the prior year. However, that no longer seems to be the case as the Texans have gone in the wrong direction. They’re currently sitting at 2-6, with their only two wins of the year coming against the flailing Jacksonville Jaguars. They’ve also fired their coach this season as Bill O’Brien was let go following an 0-4 start and was replaced with interim head coach Romeo Crennel, a guy Cleveland fans know well.

Crennel was the head coach in Cleveland from 2005 through 2008 after a successful run as the New England Patriots defensive coordinator. He also spent time with the Browns back in 2000 as a defensive coordinator for them as well, giving him two tenures in Berea. As a head coach for the Browns, Crennel was 24-40 but was there in their last winning season — which was their 10-6 campaign in 2007.

Since that tenure, Crennel was the coach in Kansas City and compiled a 4-15 record after serving as an interim in 2011 and then as the head coach for just one season in 2012. Following a year out of football, Crennel landed with the Texans where he has served as a coordinator or assistant head coach up until O’Brien was let go.

Now Cleveland looks to score a victory over an old friend and we look ahead to the showdown with these five bold predictions for the game.
