Will the Cleveland Browns season be decided in the next two weeks?

It sounds crazy at first to call the next two games for the Cleveland Browns must-wins since they enter Week 10 with a winning record at 5-3. Sure, they would prefer to beat both the Houston Texans and Philadelphia Eagles, but could it really crush their season with six games left?

That’s something that Doug Lesmerises looked into and the more he looked at the team’s remaining schedule, the more it made sense. Lesmerises contends that there are two teams the Browns will easily win and two they could just as easily lose to — with one toss-up game against the Titans.

For that reason, he says the entire season could depend on how things go for Cleveland against Deshaun Watson and Carson Wentz. And to add some intrigue to this, those were the very quarterbacks Cleveland elected not to draft as they traded with their respective clubs. The jury is still out as to whether or not they made the right call, but Baker Mayfield can make quite the case for himself in Week 10 and 11.

That story and more can be found in today’s Daily Dawg Tags.

Cleveland Browns news

The Cleveland Browns’ season will be determined against Deshaun Watson and Carson Wentz —  Doug Lesmerises, Cleveland.com

"“It’s too easy to say they’ll lose the first three (the Titans especially look a little creaky) and win the last three (the Giants might be frisky enough to ruin their own draft hopes.) But that’s how it could go, and if they do, that 3-3 added to the Browns’ current 5-3 record is 8-6.”“That means the 2-6 Texans and 3-4-1 Eagles could be the difference for the Browns between a disappointing 8-8, a reasonable 9-7 and step-forward, surely-playoff-bound 10-6.”"

Browns designate RB Nick Chubb to return from injured reserve — Nick Shook, NFL.com

"“The Browns have designated Chubb to return from injured reserve, the team announced Monday. Chubb has three weeks to return to action following his designation to return, per league rules.”"

Kareem Hunt has been a good running back for Cleveland but there’s no denying Nick Chubb is the bell-cow. It’s also true that this offense is more dangerous when they have the two of them together. The hope is that Chubb will be ready to go in Week 10, and they can use him.

Kevin Stefanski discusses Baker Mayfield, Nick Chubb in conference call: Transcript — Scott Patsko, Cleveland.com

"On how Chubb looked in practice today:“I was joking, he was fresh legs out there. He looked like Nick looks. He was ready to roll out there at practice. Obviously, he is chomping at the bit. He has done everything in this rehab that has been asked of him. As you can imagine, he has attacked it. We will see how the week unfolds here.”"

When asked about an update on Baker Mayfield, Stefanski said there was nothing to say, adding that he can’t get into that. We will know more by Wednesday, but for now, the team is in a waiting game with Mayfield. As for Chubb, it’s nice to see they had him back in practice as he gives the offense a much-needed spark.

Browns get key players back at practice after bye

We all heard that Nick Chubb was back but Josh Brown points out that Wyatt Teller is also finally on the mend. Brown contends that Teller’s return is just as important considering he was playing fantastic football before being sidelined.

Terry Bradshaw unloads on Baker Mayfield

Not liking Baker Mayfield seems to be the cool thing to do. Everyone outside of Cleveland not only partakes in the festivities, but they also like to brag about their dislike for the former No. 1 overall pick. Now, Terry Bradshaw gets in on the fun as he and Colin Cowherd had some fun listing all the quarterbacks who have personalities they don’t like.
