2. Nick Chubb, Running-back

Browns star running back Nick Chubb was off to an all-pro caliber start before the knee injury vs. the Dallas Cowboys. The team is lucky enough to have Kareem Hunt as the backup, but there has still clearly been a drop off in production since the loss of Chubb. In 3.5 games this year, Chubb has over 33 rushing yards to go along with 4 touchdowns.

While Hunt has been great and the team is fortunate to have him, he just lacks a bit of power and vision that Chubb has. There was a couple of runs where Hunt would gain six to seven yards and you just knew that Chubb would have turned it into 20. That is nothing against Hunt but just speaks to how good Chubb is.

Not only will the team welcome back his abilities, his quiet style of leadership and calmness will also be welcomed back with open arms. There are two types of leaders in the world, and Chubb leads by being quiet and doing his job. There just aren’t enough of those guys in the NFL anymore, and his presence will boost the confidence of the entire team.

No ones besides Chubb and the medical staff know just how serious the knee injury was but look for him to only get 10 to 15 touches this week. If it goes well early it may be more, but the team will be cautious with Chubb to make sure it is ready for live NFL action.
