Cleveland Browns studs and duds from Week 10 win over Texans
By Randy Gurzi
Stud: Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt
This is Cleveland football. Following the delay due to the terrible weather, the Browns and Texans took the field and it was a wet field with some terrible wind conditions. For that reason, the Browns ran the ball far more often than they threw it. And that led to a huge day from both Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt.
Chubb was back for the first time since hurting his knee in a Week 4 win over the Dallas Cowboys and it seemed as though he was on a pitch count early on, which isn’t a bad thing when you have Kareem Hunt to lean on.
The former Kansas City Chiefs running back ran for 104 yards on 19 carries and added another 28 on three receptions. Often times he was making something out of nothing and racked up several yards after contact.
Hunt was even out there in the fourth milking the clock, but it was Chubb who closed things out. Not only did he score the nine-yard touchdown that put the game out of reach, but he also ripped off a 59-yarder in the final quarter to ice the game.
Not only did that put him over 100-yards (126 total on the ground) but it allowed Chubb to show his selflessness. The young running back could have walked into the end zone on that play but instead decided to step out of bounds which allowed Baker Mayfield to come out and kneel down to kill the clock.
Overall, the Browns running back duo had 230 yards on 38 receptions. It was their best game together and hopefully a sign of things to come.
