Bold predictions as the Cleveland Browns host Philadelphia

The weather made the Cleveland Browns Week 10 matchup vs. the Houston Texans more interesting than it should have been. In the end, the Browns won a game they desperately needed and were supposed to win, keeping all their goals attainable.

This week’s matchup vs. the Philadelphia Eagles is no different, the Browns must move to 7-3 to keep their playoff dreams alive and well.

Here are five bold predictions for the Week 11 matchup.

5. Stefanski sets the tone

Although the Browns got the win vs. the Houston Texans last week, there was nothing pretty about it. The defense did play their best game of the season (by far), but the offense continued to look lethargic for most of the game.

Let’s do give credit where it’s due. When the Browns needed three first downs to close out the game, Kevin Stefanski and the offense were able to get it done. This usually isn’t the case for the Browns, but the 10-7 score was closer than the game felt for most of the day.

Look for Stefanski to use this as a tremendous teaching moment for the offense. We got the job done, and the defense helped us out, but we must be better if we are going to win games moving forward. Scoring 10 points likely won’t win you games vs the Titans, Ravens, or Steelers who all remain on the Browns schedule.

While Stefanski has done a tremendous job in his first year, let’s not forget this is a completely new role for him as well. He’s used to calling plays, but not completing an entire game and making all major decisions on game day. But the good news is, he is only going to get better. I expect him to continue to find ways to make the entire offense better and keep this team motivated with their eyes on the playoffs.
