Cleveland Browns add stud receiver in Week 11 seven-round 2021 NFL mock draft

At 6-5, 266 pounds, Jaelan Phillips is an elite athlete that didn’t get many chances at UCLA, for whatever reason. He transferred, to Miami, and after sitting out the 2019 campaign, he’s taken the next step in 2020, totaling five sacks over eight games and providing consistent pressure. He’s the kind of player who can easily become much better in the pros than in college, and pairing Myles Garrett with the type of athlete that Phillips has to make the Browns giddy.
Another athletic edge rusher, Azeez Ozulari will have two years of solid production and will likely end up as a first-round pick, but he falls to the third in this sim. The Browns need not only a starter opposite Garrett but also some playable depth. Adrian Clayborn has been a disappointment, Porter Gustin is a decent backup, and Curtis Weaver is a big question mark.
Ojulari wouldn’t start, but he’d play plenty of snaps, allowing Garrett to move inside on third down where he can get pressure more quickly than off the edge. The Browns know the value of a deep defensive line, and likely will make that position group their priority this offseason.
A popular third-round pick in these weekly mocks, Levi Onwuzurike has a fantastic first step but needs to play with more consistent pad-level and technique. He has loads of potential, and Cleveland has a major need at defensive tackle. He’d likely rotate in and out as the team’s third DT, seeing the field mostly on passing downs.
