1. Curtis Weaver, EDGE

The Miami Dolphins likely got a steal in the fifth-round when they landed Boise State defensive end Curtis Weaver at No. 164 overall. While with the Broncos, Weaver was one of the more consistent pass rushers in the game. He had 11 sacks as a freshman and then added 9.5 as a sophomore and 13.5 the following season.

While that was true, he had some problems with missed tackles and there were those who were concerned with his length. Still, he had way more talent than what his draft stock suggested and the Dolphins looked wise for bringing him in. Then, they made a mistake by waiving him with a foot injury with the hopes of putting him on the IR to save him for 2021 — trying to save a roster spot by doing this.

The problem is, placing him on waivers meant he was able to be claimed by another club and Cleveland GM Andrew Berry was there to snatch him up. Eventually, Weaver was put on the Cleveland IR and won’t see the field at all in 2020.

He should be fully healthy in 2021, however, and the Browns could also be in the market for more help on the defensive line. Weaver might not be ready to start opposite Myles Garrett that season but he should be a valuable rotational rusher.
