Cleveland Browns got two starters back for Week 11

The Cleveland Browns got some good news this weekend as they activated both right tackle Jack Conklin and kicker Cody Parkey from the COVID-19 list.

Both players were activated on Saturday night but now it appears they will be good to go for Sunday since no new positive test was reported for either player.

Cleveland had believed they might have to start Kendall Lamm at right tackle, who is their third option, since Chris Hubbard was also on the COVID-19 reserve list. At kicker. Matt McCrane would have been activated from the practice squad if necessary.

Conklin was signed this offseason after a breakout campaign with the Tennessee Titans. He’s been an upgrade at right tackle from Hubbard, but with that being said, Hubbard has also been vastly improved this season. The improved play of the entire line is a testament to the work of offensive line coach Bill Callahan. Having said that, there’s no denying that Conklin being activated is a huge boost for this offense.

As for the kicking situation, Parkey was added to the practice squad ahead of Week 1 as a second option behind Austin Seibert. Following Seibert’s struggles against Baltimore, Parkey was elevated ad has been great so far in 2020.

On the season, he is 11-of-12 on field goals and 23-of-24 on extra points. McCrane has not kicked in a regular-season game since 2018 when he was with three different teams and made 8-of-12 kicks and 9-of-9 extra points.

While McCrane has some experience, Parkey is the superior option, and having him in the game can be huge for them.
