The weather was awful for Cleveland Browns, but what’s new?

For the third straight week, the weather was a huge factor for the Cleveland Browns. After a 7-0 lead at the half, the defense tightened up the hatch and was a major reason the Browns move to 7-3 scoring 9 points themselves. This was a game circled on the Browns schedule as a win, and the Browns did just that.

The team now looks forward to good weather in Jacksonville, but first, here are five studs and duds from the hard-fought win on Sunday.

Dud No. 2: Andrew Sendejo, Safety

Fans are likely getting tired of seeing Andrew Sendejo on this list every single week as a dud. But I’m more tired of terrible play by the Cleveland safety. The question continues to be asked, are Sheldrick Redwine and Karl Joseph seriously worse than him?

Redwine is a second-year guy from the University of Miami and has played well in a limited number of snaps in 2020. Joseph would be playing slightly out of position but had been extremely effective before the arrival of Ronnie Harrison. When Harrison missed a few snaps on Sunday early because of a knee injury, Joseph quickly became noticeable when on the field.

Sendejo continues to get burnt in coverage and misses too many tackles while trying to make a huge hit on every single play. For every nice tackle he makes right at the point of contact, he misses three in the open field and gives up an additional 10 yards. Let’s not forget about the bonehead personal foul penalty he had in the first half of the game.

For four games it could be a fluke of bad play. We are now 10 games into the season, and it is a serious trend. It’s time for Joe Woods to give someone else a look.
