Cleveland Browns: 5 NFL Draft EDGE prospects to pair with Myles Garrett

Five 2021 NFL Draft EDGEs for the Cleveland Browns
The Cleveland Browns have the NFL’s best edge rusher in Myles Garrett, but they don’t have a long-term Robin to Garrett’s Batman. The rest of the defensive line has been a massive disappointment this season outside of the game against the Philadelphia Eagles, which Garrett was not a part of.
Olivier Vernon is unlikely to return in 2021, and even if he were to (on a team-friendly contract), Cleveland still needs to add some young talent to the EDGE room. Here are five 2021 NFL Draft prospects who could be Garrett’s partner-in-crime.
5. Kwity Paye, Michigan
The Michigan Wolverines may be having a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad season, but Kwity Paye has vaulted himself into the conversation for the first EDGE off the board and a potential top-10 pick. Over the past two seasons, Paye’s physical traits were on display, but he didn’t have the technical skills required to be a truly great player. That’s changed in 2020, as Paye has shown significant developmental en route to three games of disruptive play. He’s always been a solid run defender, but he’s finally taken the next step as a pass-rusher. At 6-4, 272 pounds with great athleticism, he’s the kind of player that would absolutely thrive as a second option opposite Garrett.
However, it seems incredibly unlikely that he’d fall to the early 20s where the Browns are currently selecting. The team does have nine draft picks this year, and it’s unlikely they’ll use all nine. Perhaps they’d make a move for Paye if he were to slip a little.
