Bold predictions for Cleveland Browns QB Baker Mayfield in Week 13

Week 13 brings us a potential revenge game for the Cleveland Browns as they play the Tennessee Titans in Nashville. For those who don’t remember, the Titans are the teams that gave the Browns their first reality check in 2019.

On the heels of Baker Mayfield’s fabulous rookie season — plus the addition of Odell Beckham, Jr. — Cleveland was supposed to be a team to watch that season. But in Week 1, they were thrashed by the Titans at home by a score of 43-13.

In that loss, Mayfield especially struggled as he threw three interceptions. It set the stage for a rough season for Baker and the Browns who finished 6-10. This season, things have been much better for Cleveland, evidenced by their 8-3 start.

4. Another huge fourth-down conversion

While there are those who were unimpressed with Baker Mayfield in Week 12, he really did have a solid game. Yes, he missed a couple of open receivers with the big issue being him missing Rashard Higgins and Jarvis Landry on potential touchdown passes.

However, focusing on those passes means you would miss out on some of the clutch ones made by No. 6. And in recent weeks, he’s hit a few on third downs to move the sticks. In their latest win, he not only did that, but also had a key fourth-down play.

Trailing 19-17, the Browns were facing a fourth-and-1 at the Jacksonville 44. At this time, all the momentum was with the Jags and head coach Kevin Stefanski dialed up a pass in an attempt to get that back. Mayfield had to go through his reads and when nothing easy was there, he took a chance on a pass to KhaDarel Hodge.

Mayfield threw a bullet toward the sideline and Hodge made a great catch for a 10-yard gain. The drive ended in a field goal and the Browns took the lead back for good. In this prediction, Mayfield is again tasked with a tough fourth-down throw and he again comes in clutch.
