2. Fifth game with no picks

Last season, there was nothing more frustrating than Baker Mayfield’s interception problem. Following a 5-3 finish to his rookie season, Mayfield had Cleveland Browns fans stoked for what was yet to come. And right off the bat, he started to kill that optimism as he was throwing picks at an alarming rate.

It started in Week 1 when he threw three interceptions in their opening loss to these very Tennessee Titans. It continued from there as Mayfield had an interception in seven-straight games to open the season before a three-game stretch with none. Then, he had at least one in all six to follow.

In all, Mayfield had 21 picks which are far too many. The good news is, he’s been much better in 2020. Overall, he has seven interceptions in 11 games and has had none since the first drive of their Week 7 win over Cincinnati. That’s four games in a row without throwing one away to the wrong team which is a career-best.

When Kevin Stefanski was hired, it was expected that he would make things easier on Mayfield. Leaning on the run and working in play-action and bootlegs has helped tremendously and that will continue in Week 13. This bold prediction is that while Stefanski has to unleash Mayfield more than he has in past weeks, he still plays a clean game and makes it five in a row without an interception. It won’t be enough to silence all the Baker-critics, but it will surely help.
