Cleveland Browns: 3 Titans to be concerned with in Week 13
Titan No. 2: A.J. Brown
The Browns’ cornerbacks, at least the ones that are available, are going to have their hands full this week. Most of the stress on the secondary will be caused by the Titans’ A.J. Brown.
The second-year receiver possesses size, strength, and speed that make him a nightmare after the catch. His running back-like build combined with his elite receiver skills could prove to be immensely problematic for a wounded Browns secondary.
The Titans utilize Brown as an extension of their running game. Brown’s abilities allow short quick passes to turn into huge gains. He is also who Titans’ quarterback Ryan Tannehill looks to when he needs tough yards over the middle of the field. Brown is the perfect receiver to feature in the Titans’ bully ball style of offense.
So far on the season, Brown has 40 receptions for 638 yards and eight receiving touchdowns. Brown’s skill set perfectly compliments the Titans’ number two receiver, Corey Davis, and the two have become quite the receiving duo.
Even if Denzel Ward was not injured and available for this game, Terrance Mitchell would be the best option the Browns have to cover Brown due to the physicality that is necessary to bring the receiver down. Containing and corralling Brown after the catch will be key if the Browns want to leave Nashville with a victory.
