Ranking the Cleveland Browns  Week 13 TD celebrations

The Cleveland Browns got up big early. They dominated a team that appeared in the AFC championship game last season. The second half got a little interesting as the Browns took their foot off the gas. But a win is a win.

Quarterback Baker Mayfield had a big day passing the ball. The running game was not called upon as much. But in the end, the Browns proved they could win by running the ball or passing.

One of the great things about a big half of scoring is the touchdown celebrations. On five occasions the Browns were able to celebrate touchdowns. Since Browns fans should be in a good mood after winning, I have decided to have some fun and rank the touchdown celebrations.

Some players have excellent celebrations. Others need to work on their game. Without further ado, here are the rankings.

No. 5 DPJ  Convulsions

One thing that is constant in the NFL is that rookies are going to do things that only rookies will do. The third touchdown of the game came on a long pass to wide receiver Donovan Peoples-Jones. Peoples-Jones then put on a touchdown celebration that looked like it was made up in the moment. It was a total rookie move.

With 13:14 left in the 2nd quarter, the Browns ran a play-action pass. Baker rolled out, saw his man then unloaded the deep ball to DPJ. He then sprinted to the end zone for the touchdown. This play made up for a terrible drop on the goal line on the first drive of the game.

Not sure if it was nerves, lack of preparation, or all out excitement on the long touchdown pass, but his celebration was awful. First, he runs into the end zone while making the peace sign with his hands (total rookie move). Then he stops, turns around, throws the ball down, and begins to convulse like he has a neurological disorder.

Not sure what was going on with that “dance” if you could call it that. If anything it was embarrassing. Rookie needs to work on his end zone moves. With the way Peoples-Jones has been playing, he will be there a lot more opportunities for dancing in the future. He needs to get this fixed in a hurry.
