The Daily Dawg Tags bring you the Cleveland Browns news you need to know

Depth at wide receiver has been an issue for the Cleveland Browns ever since they lost Odell Beckham, Jr. to a torn ACL earlier in the season. The good news is, they have had some great moments from their remaining players including Jarvis Landry who is finally looking like himself again.

Still, they needed to add more talent to the position, which is what they did on Monday. Cleveland was awarded the rights to Marvin Hall, who was recently waived by the Detroit Lions.

Hall is a 5-foot-9, 192-pound speedster who has 17 receptions for 290 yards and two touchdowns this season. He won’t be threatening for a starting job, but he has proven he can take the top off a defense.

The story about him landing with the Browns and more can be found in today’s Daily Dawg Tags.

Browns claim wide receiver Marvin Hall via waivers — Dan Labbe, Cleveland.com

"“He caught four passes for 113 yards in a Week 8 game against Indianapolis this season. Two weeks later he caught two passes for 61 yards against Washington.”"

Hall might not be a future Pro Bowl player, but he clearly had his share of good moments. This late in the season, it’s rare to land a player with his talent. We’ll see if he can get on the field for the Browns and make an impact.

Kevin Stefanski discusses Baker Mayfield, Jedrick Wills Jr. in conference call: Transcript

"“They are doing a nice job. Anytime you come out of a game with zero sacks and even the pressures, they did a nice job of keeping people out of the pocket and keeping a clean pocket for (QB) Baker (Mayfield).”"

There’s a lot to like about Cleveland this season, but the improvement from their offensive line has to be atop the list. They were fantastic on Sunday and even had a touchdown from Kendall Lamm. It’s easy to overlook the offensive line when they’re playing well but they’re what makes this offense click.

What’s up with the second half?

It’s become a regular thing for the Browns to struggle in the second half, especially when they have a big lead. Sam Penix asks what the deal is as he looks at why Cleveland allows teams to make the score look closer than the game actually was.
