Cleveland Browns: Baker Mayfield’s career stats against the Ravens
By Mitch Zoloty
Passing Yards
"1. Week 17, 2018: 376 passing yards 2. Week 4, 2019: 342 yards 2. Week 5, 2018: 342 yards 4. Week 16, 2019: 192 yards 5. Week 1, 2020: 189 yards Total: 1,441 passing yards. 288.2 YPG"
This statistic might be the most positive on the list. His average of 288.2 passing yards per game against the Baltimore Ravens likely will be lowered this week, especially with Stefanski’s offense. However, it is interesting to note that the Browns are 2-1 when Baker throws 340+ yards against the Ravens, and 0-2 when he throws less.
If Mayfield can get going through the air consistently, it is going to open up the ground game even more than it has been recently. The Tennessee Titans were able to slow down the Browns run game last week, and the Cleveland QB was able to make them pay through the air for it. If the Ravens commit to stopping the run early like the Titans did, Baker is going to need to be able to sling it through the air and make them pay.
The Cleveland Browns are going to have to get Mayfield going if they want to defeat this Baltimore Ravens defense. They’re extremely talented upfront, and they have only allowed 19.5 points per game through week 12, which is the 3rd best in the NFL. If the Browns can consistently move the ball through the air like they did last week, then they should be able to get close to scoring 30 points again.
