Cleveland Browns: Baker Mayfield’s career stats against the Ravens
By Mitch Zoloty
Conclusion
"Average Stat line: 22/37, 288 yds, 1.6 TDs, 1.4 INTs"
If Baker Mayfield wants to have an above-average game against the Baltimore Ravens, he is going to have to beat those statistics listed above. It’s going to be a challenging feat, considering how good this Baltimore Ravens defense has been playing this season, but it is certainly possible. Mayfield has been on fire recently, and has been shutting up doubters left and right, including myself.
I have not been one to say that Baker should be benched or that the team should move on from him after this season, but I have questioned if he is worth an extension yet. If he is able to continue his good play from the Titans game and puts up similar numbers this week, it might be safe again to say that he is the quarterback for the next decade.
The Browns are entering this week with the possibility of clinching a playoff spot three weeks early. Read that sentence again. Weeks 15, 16, and 17 would only matter to the franchise for playoff seeding. The last time the Browns were in the playoffs I was an infant, but here we are, about to play what is arguably the biggest game that I’ve seen them play in my life.
Week 14 of the 2020 season is going to be the game that either established the Cleveland Browns as a serious playoff contender or it will further push the narrative that the Browns can’t beat winning teams.
This game is going to be won or lost by Baker Mayfield, and it seems there hasn’t been a better time in his career for this type of game.
