3 Players who could doom Cleveland Browns playoff run
By Randy Gurzi
1. Andrew Sendejo, Safety
Entering training camp, the Cleveland Browns appeared set at safety. They had free-agent addition Karl Joseph joining rookie Grant Delpit. There was also Sheldrick Redwine who played well as a rookie the prior season and as added insurance, they picked up Andrew Sendejo who brought veteran experience.
Unfortunately, Delpit was lost to a torn Achilles and Joesph also dealt with his share of injuries. They added Ronnie Harrison who has been their best safety but he too has been lacking in the durability department and is currently on the IR.
With all that being said, Cleveland has been leaning heavily on Sendejo who seems to be the player defensive coordinator Joe Woods trusts more than any other. That says a lot about how he feels about the rest of the players because Sendejo has been a liability this season.
Week after week he gives up a big play and seems to always be on the wrong end of a receiving touchdown. Now, he did have his best game in their win over the Jacksonville Jaguars as he broke up a touchdown and got in the way of a two-point conversion, but that doesn’t mean he’s completely turned a corner.
As much as the Browns have struggled to stop the pass this season, there has to be a major concern as we approach the playoffs.
