2.59. player. 871. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. CB. Stanford. PaulsonAdebo

Paulson Adebo opted out of the 2020 season, and that was a poor decision from a pure football perspective. He had a sensational 2018 campaign, and that combined with his 6-1 frame made him a top prospect heading into 2019. He wasn’t necessarily bad, but his play definitely took a step back from where it was in 2018. Adebo has great natural size and instincts, but he can get too aggressive and lazy with his technique, and he doesn’t have the speed or agility to make up for that.

The Browns need to add depth to their secondary this offseason, especially if Greedy Williams isn’t able to come back at 100%. Adebo will need to show teams that he’s bulked up and drastically improved his technique during his year off in order to rebuild his stock. He has true #1 corner potential, but it wasn’t on display on a consistent enough basis last season. If Cleveland can coach him up, they could be getting an excellent #2 or even #3 corner at a solid value. Perhaps Andrew Berry and co. won’t be willing to take a risk this early in the draft, but depending on how Adebo looks at the NFL Combine and in pre-draft workouts, he’d definitely need to at least be in the discussion this late in the second round.
