Can Baker Mayfield lead Cleveland to a win over Baltimore?

The Cleveland Browns host the Baltimore Ravens on Monday Night Football and the stakes couldn’t be higher. With a record of 9-3, the Browns have their first winning season since 2007 and now, they’re looking to secure a playoff berth for the first time since 2002.

Currently, that’s the longest drought in the NFL, and ending that would be a huge monkey off the back of this franchise. Not only could they essentially guarantee a berth with a win on Monday, but the Browns could also make it nearly impossible for the Ravens to get in, as their divisional rival is sitting at 7-5 right now.

It would be a huge revenge game for Cleveland to pull off the win and would mean a lot to the legacy of Baker Mayfield. Right now, the belief is that the Browns are winning in spite of Mayfield and even his current stretch of great play is met with a “yeah, but” usually followed by how the team lost to the Ravens and Steelers.

Winning here would end that talk, especially if the team pulls off the victory while Baker plays well. Here, we look at how the third-year quarterback could perform in Week 14 with these three bold predictions for No. 6.

3. Mayfield completes 75 percent of his passes

One thing that has stood out in recent games is how well Baker Mayfield has been throwing the ball. He’s been smart with it as he hasn’t thrown the high-risk passes that have led to the interceptions that plagued him in 2019.

In Week 14, look for him to do this again. Cleveland will lean heavily on the run with the goal being to set their quarterback up with the play-action bootlegs that he excels with. Using this strategy, look for Mayfield to complete 75 percent of his passes as he not only continues to play well, but proves it once again against a playoff-caliber team.
