The return of rookie safety Grant Delpit is obviously the wildcard for the Browns, but players who pop their Achilles rarely return to full health. Regardless, the Browns may be in the market for a third starting caliber safety as the free-agent signings of Andrew Sendejo and Karl Joseph are likely going to be a one-year stint in Cleveland.

One of the most athletic and physically gifted safeties in the entire nation can be found in Cincinnati, Ohio as Bearcats’ senior safety James Wiggins has returned to form after suffering a season-ending injury a year ago. The 6-foot-0 and 205-pound safety has racked up 25 solo tackles, one tackle for loss, one sack, six passes defended, and one forced fumble in 2020 for UC this season.

In his last healthy season in 2018, Wiggins racked up four interceptions and five passes defended. Long story short, Wiggins is a playmaker for the Bearcats’ defense. For the cost of a likely mid-round pick, the Browns could land Wiggins to add depth and talent to their defense and give Woods a great deal of versatility.

With Ronnie Harrison and hopefully a fully healthy Delpit, adding Wiggins to the mix would give the Browns the ability to diversify their nickel and dime packages as Woods has hoped to do.
