Cleveland Browns add pair of Buckeyes in NFL mock draft at Week 16

A Cleveland Browns mock draft heading into Week 16
The Cleveland Browns are now 10-4 after a commanding victory over the New York Giants, and Baker Mayfield is playing at a truly elite level.
This team could make some real noise in 2021 with a strong draft, so let’s do exactly that.
For this week’s mock, we’ll be using Mock Draft Database’s simulator, with Cleveland selecting 23rd overall.
Denzel Ward is one of the best in the business, and there are certainly worse starting cornerbacks than Terrance Mitchell, but it would be wise for the Browns to sink more capital into that position group, even if Greedy Williams is able to return from his shoulder nerve injury. Jaycee Horn is the son of longtime New Orleans Saints wide receiver Joe Horn, but will make his living preventing touchdowns instead of scoring them. He played seven games in 2020 before opting out, and shut down Auburn’s Seth Williams in Week 7, which showed the NFL world he was ready to enter the league.
Horn is a feisty player with a good frame at 6-1 205 pounds and would make an excellent complement to Ward on the outside. He’d be tasked with covering the bigger receivers that Ward typically struggles against, and would let the team focus on improving in the slot, whether that’s later in the draft, via trade, or with a free agent who would have already been signed at this point.
The Browns will be drafting a corner at some point this year, and it’s likely to be early. Horn would be a great fit with this team.
