The Cleveland Browns could be contenders in 2021 with the right moves

We are nearing Week 16 of the 2020 NFL season and the Cleveland Browns are one win away from securing their first playoff berth since 2002. A feat such as that would be a huge success, but this team isn’t thinking of just making the playoffs.

Sure, ending the longest drought in the NFL would be nice but the Browns know they can compete with anyone. And they have proven that time and again.

This doesn’t mean, however, that they’re a perfect team. There are still some holes to fill and that’s what we look at here as we identify four blockbuster trades they can make in the 2021 offseason as they try and become contenders.

4. Andy Isabella, Wide Receiver

This one might not seem like a huge blockbuster at first since Andy Isabella isn’t a huge name in the NFL but he would make a splash in Cleveland. One thing we have seen since Odell Beckham, Jr. went down with a torn ACL is that the Browns don’t have too many other players capable of stretching the field.

Isabella is a player who can do exactly that, evidenced by his 4.31 time in the 40-yard dash. The Mayfield, OH product not only wowed with his speed at the Combine but was a weapon collegiately at Massachusetts which led to him being a second-round pick of the Arizona Cardinals in 2019.

The only problem is, he’s buried in the depth chart in Arizona with DeAndre Hopkins, Larry Fitzgerald, and Christian Kirk getting far more looks than him. Maybe he gets more if Fitzgerald retires, or maybe Fitzgerald never retires.

Either way, Isabella has just 30 receptions so far and it feels as though he can offer more to an NFL team. For that reason, the Browns could be interested in bringing him to their team to see if he can add another dimension to their offense.
