3. Better passing defense

The first thing that will be on the Cleveland Browns’ Christmas wish list is a better passing defense. As of late, this has been the weakest area of the Browns’ team. Although they have a very bright spot in their secondary in Denzel Ward, he is unable to cover the entire field by himself.

Currently, the Browns have the 11th worst passing defense in the entire NFL in terms of passing yards per game. They give up on average 246.5 passing yards a night. This is an enormous step down when compared to last season in which the Browns gave up the 7th least passing yards per game with only 216.9 yards a game.

One of the major reasons why the Cleveland Browns are giving up so many more passing yards this year is the holes in their lineup. This offseason, Cleveland lost two of their veteran linebackers in Joe Schobert and Christian Kirksey. Along with this, the Browns have a glaring week spot at their safety position.

It seems to be too late in the season to acquire a new player to play at linebacker or safety unless the team was out of nowhere sign Earl Thomas. However, it is essential that the players at those positions step it up as we near the playoffs.
