The Cleveland Browns 5 worst games from the 2020 NFL campaign

The Cleveland Browns overcame plenty of obstacles this season to make the playoffs for the first time since 2002. Going 11-5 is something to be proud of, although things didn’t always look so great. Here are the team’s five worst games of 2020.

5. Week 9 vs. Houston Texans

This one may not have been pretty in the slightest, but it’s definitely hard to complain about a win. This was the second of three straight games played in the cold, graupel-y, and windy November Cleveland weather, of which the Browns won two.

Cleveland and Houston combined for a grand total of 17 points, and the conditions played perfectly to the Browns strength and the Texans weaknesses. Baker Mayfield didn’t play great, but he wasn’t bad either, save for a pass attempt that was batted down at the line of scrimmage; had it made it through the line, that pass would have easily been intercepted.

Nick Chubb (126) and Kareem Hunt (104) nearly outgained the entire Houston team, thanks to a game-sealing 59-yard scamper by Chubb on third down, during which he stepped out of bounds at the one-yard line to ice the game, rather than score a touchdown to pad his stat line. The defense played pretty well, allowing just seven points to one of the league’s better passers in Deshaun Watson.

Ugly wins are always better than losses, but out of all 11 of Cleveland’s victories this season, this one was probably the least impressive, for however little that is worth.
