Rashard Higgins was the latest Cleveland Browns player in the news

The Cleveland Browns ended their playoff drought with a win against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday and since then, it’s been nothing but losses for the team.

On Tuesday, it was reported they lost head coach Kevin Stefanski as well as left guard Joel Bitonio and wide receiver KhaDarel Hodge for their first playoff game since 2003 when all three were sent to the COVID-19 reserve list.

Then later in the day, wide receiver Rashard Higgins made news when he was cited for drag racing. But Higgins, who is always up for having fun, took to social media to make light of the situation with a couple of tweets — one saying he was “tyrna get away from Covid” and the other saying his “foot slipped.”

Higgins has since deleted the tweets but Benjamin Albright has a screenshot for us to check out, since nothing is ever truly gone from the internet.

Higgins is clearly trying to make light of the situation but then he thought better of it. If we are being honest, his citation isn’t anything serious but it’s probably best he doesn’t try and make it into a joke — just to keep the PC police away at least.

As for his play on the field this season, Higgins just finished a career year. He had 37 receptions for 599 yards and four touchdowns while averaging a personal-best 16.2 yards per catch.

As long as the league doesn’t step in and force him out of Sunday’s game, which there is no indication of that happening, he should be ready to continue that strong campaign for the Browns in their first Wild Card game in 18 years.
