The disrespect just keeps coming for the Cleveland Browns

Apparently, Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Sammy Watkins wasn’t paying attention to the buildup to the Pittsburgh Steelers’ dismantling at the hands of the Cleveland Browns on Sunday, because he went out of his way to add some bulletin board material to the Cleveland locker room.

When someone on Twitter suggested there was some competition for the Chiefs this coming weekend, Watkins went the JuJu Smith-Schuster route and decided to throw shade at the Browns.

It didn’t work for JuJu, but Sammy took his shot nevertheless.

The Chiefs are an excellent team with an excellent quarterback, but to act like they are invincible is going much too far. This is the same team that nearly lost to the Atlanta Falcons, after all. The KC offense is a terrible matchup for the Browns defense, but the underdog will have a chance because of how quarterback Baker Mayfield has played since Week 7. It should be a shootout for the ages, just like when Mayfield and Patrick Mahomes dueled it out in 2016.

The Oklahoma Sooners took down the Texas Tech Red Raiders by a final score of 66-59, with Mayfield and Mahomes combining for nearly 1,300 yards and 12 touchdowns through the air. This week’s matchup likely won’t be as high-scoring, but it should be entertaining all the same.

The key for the Browns will be to once again get out to an early lead, so that they can take advantage of the weak Kansas City run defense and keep Mahomes on the sideline. The Chiefs will score points, and plenty of them, so the Browns just need to decide how quickly they wish for those points to be scored.

The Browns aren’t likely to win this game. But they weren’t likely to beat the Steelers, either, and ended up demolishing the AFC North champions. The Chiefs would do well to not underestimate Cleveland, lest they repeat Pittsburgh’s mistakes.
