5 Eagles trade targets for the Browns
It’s the end of an era. The Philadelphia Eagles have fired head coach Doug Pederson after five seasons. Pederson went 42-37-1 with Philly, including a 13-3 record and a Super Bowl victory in 2017.
Unfortunately, quarterback Carson Wentz suffered a torn ACL towards the end of the regular season that year, and hasn’t been the same since. If this firing signals the beginning of a rebuild, here are five players that the Cleveland Browns could target in a trade.
5. WR Travis Fulgham
The Browns need receivers who can consistently separate against man coverage using athleticism, and Fulgham is not that. However, he is a big (6-3, 215 pounds) X receiver whose playstyle would mesh well with Baker Mayfield. Cleveland doesn’t have a true X and getting someone who can make contested and back-shoulder catches on the regular would be a nice boost to the passing game.
Fulgham will be entering his third NFL season in 2021 and will be on the final year of his contract, as he was cut by his original team, the Detroit Lions. It would all depend on how much the Eagles would want for Fulgham, but he could be a nice one-year solution at X with the potential to be a long-term piece.
He’s not a game-changer, but that’s not what the Browns need from their X. The game-breaking will be Odell Beckham Jr.’s job. The Browns have a lot of redundant skillsets at WR right now, and Fulgham’s size would at least add something different to the room.
