The Daily Dawg Tags bring you all the news you need to know about your Cleveland Browns

On Thursday, the Pro Football Writer’s of America spoke. The group named their 2020 NFL Coach of the Year and it was none other than Kevin Stefanski, the rookie head coach of the Cleveland Browns.

Now, anyone who followed this team was less than shocked at the decision. Stefanki took over a team that hadn’t had a winning record since 2007 and missed the playoffs in every season since 2002 — and then had to install a whole new offense virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Despite that, he led them to an 11-5 record and a playoff berth. To top it off, they won their first playoff game since 1994 and while Stefanski had to sit at home since he had come down with the virus, his fingerprints were all over that win.

With all this being said, we all felt strongly that he should be the NFL Coach of the Year — and we weren’t alone. When it was announced Thursday, wide receiver Odell Beckham, Jr. had the perfect response as he retweeted the news with the caption “Duhhhhhhh…..”

That story and more can be found in today’s Daily Dawg Tags.

Odell Beckham Had 1-Word Reaction To Kevin Stefanski’s Award — Alek Arend, The Spun

"“Stefanski took home this year’s Sporting News’ NFL Coach of the Year award this week. Beckham had an awesome one-word reaction to the news.”"

While the PFWA award is not the big prize, the fact that Stefanski won this is a strong indication that he will be given the official honor in a few weeks. He’s been insanely successful so far in his young career, and has a bright future.

Steelers Rumors: Former Browns HC Hue Jackson Interviews for OC Vacancy — Adam Wells, Bleacher Report

"“One week after parting ways with Randy Fichtner, the Pittsburgh Steelershave reportedly interviewed former Cleveland Browns head coach Hue Jackson for their vacant offensive coordinator position.”"

It might be easy to laugh this one off since Hue’s tenure in Cleveland ended so poorly but the fact is, he’s been a solid offensive coordinator in the NFL. Still, he seems like a longshot since he did tarnish his reputation so much with the Browns.

The ‘worst rule in football’ isn’t wrong at all — Jay Busbee, Yahoo Sports

"“I consulted some NFL rules experts. And what I found was that the “worst rule in football” … isn’t so bad after all.”"

Busbee has some interesting reasoning behind his claim but Cleveland football fans might not be ready to put the pitchforks down on this one just yet. The pain is still too much.
