1. Carlos Basham Jr. DL, Wake Forest

Carlos Basham is a monster defensive lineman who really came on his junior year in 2019, racking up 10 sacks and three forced fumbles. In a shortened 2020 campaign he still managed to get five sacks and had he played a full season, would have been on pace for another 10 sack year.

Basham is a colossal human being at 6-4, 280 pounds. Don’t be scared off by his length, this isn’t another Barkevious Mingo experiment, Cleveland. This guy doesn’t take plays off and is effective against the run as well as being a polished pass rusher.

Having Basham on the other side opposite Myles Garrett could be a force to be reckoned with and help keep quarterbacks like Lamar Jackson and Patrick Mahomes in the pocket.

With Olivier Vernon more than likely not returning next year and a lot of unknown behind Garrett, Basham could become his new running mate for years to come.

Pro Football Focus has Carlos Basham ranked 28th overall in their player rankings. Several mock drafts have Basham going mid to late first round so he could be available at 26th overall and the Browns would be wise to consider him.
