If new Jaguars head coach Urban Meyer decides to move on from a few guys, the Cleveland Browns can take advantage.

There is no doubt in anybody’s mind that the Cleveland Browns are going to spend money this offseason to continue to build their roster as they try to compete for a title in the near future. The Browns will also have many different options to go for this season, as they can decide to aim more towards free agency or trades.

While they don’t have as much cap space as most people think, Cleveland can definitely move some pieces or picks around to boost their roster. Surprisingly enough, a good place to start could be the Jaguars.

New head coach Urban Meyer may want to go out and get “his guys” through the draft and through free agency, as he enters his first year with the team. The Jaguars are one of the top teams in the league when it comes to cap space, so they have plenty of money to spend. While I don’t think the Jaguars are anywhere close to being near competing for anything, they are set to get their top quarterback in the draft (most likely Trevor Laurence).

If they think Lawrence is going to be that good, you could see them try to sign a few veteran or proven guys to try to speed up their so called “rebuild” process. If so, they have a few guys the Browns would love for them to hand over.

No. 3: C.J. Henderson

Obviously, trading away your high first round pick after just one season is highly unlikely. That said, crazier things have happened.

The Jaguars drafted C.J. Henderson 9th overall in the 2020 NFL draft. In Henderson’s rookie season, he was limited to just 8 games due to injury, and only had one interception as well as 36 total tackles. Again, drafting a guy so high and then moving him after one season is not likely, but, if offered the right price after signing a potential veteran corner to help out their defense, it is not impossible.

The Browns need tons of help in the secondary, even at the cornerback position as Denzel Ward is shut down when he is on the field. From FanNation and Jaguar Report, they aren’t so sure he will reach his full potential in Jacksonville.

"“But despite the injury, Henderson’s coaches are excited about his ceiling and future … even if they are unlikely to be in Jacksonville by the time he reaches his full potential.” — John Shipley, Jaguar Report"

The Browns could also look to trade or sign a more proven veteran this off-season, which would definitely be the more appealing move. That said, at 6-foot-1 and 204 pounds, there is a lot to like about Henderson.
