Three targets in free agency for the Cleveland Browns

The Cleveland Browns are coming off of the best season the franchise has experienced in decades. It’s crucial that the team has a successful offseason in hopes that they are able to better round out their roster and overcome some hurdles that tripped them up last year.

Going into the 2021 offseason, the Cleveland Browns have roughly $17.8 million in cap space. This is without taking into account the extensions that are likely soon to be finished for running back Nick Chubb and cornerback Denzel Ward. It’s also a possibility that the Browns forego picking up his fifth-year option and give quarterback Baker Mayfield a lengthy contract extension as well.

However, for the sake of this piece, it will be assumed that the Browns will be able to use their full $17.8 million in cap space for free agents. This will allow their front office to sign almost any big-name free agent to improve their roster.

This could be an absolute gamechanger for the Browns considering how close they were to making it to the AFC Championship game after a nail-biter against the Kansas City Cheifs. One more star level player on the roster could be enough for the Cleveland Browns to win this game and arguably go on to make their first Super Bowl appearance in franchise history.

There are three star free agent players that could be enough to push the Browns to be contenders for years to come if they are added to the team.
