A 7-round 2021 Cleveland Browns mock draft

NFL free agency doesn’t start until March 17th, so unless the Cleveland Browns make a trade or two before then (which could certainly happen), we’re left to fill all of the team’s needs with their nine draft picks this year. For this week’s mock, we’ll be using Fanspeak’s On The Clock Simulator, which was fairly kind to Cleveland this time around.

Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. CB. JayceeHorn. 1.26. 850. South Carolina. player

The Browns almost have no choice but to take a cornerback here. Denzel Ward is great, but that’s all for the position group. Terrance Mitchell and Kevin Johnson are both free agents and aren’t the level of players that you want starting for a playoff team.

Greedy Williams had a rough rookie season and his NFL future is in doubt because of his ongoing nerve injury. For a defense that is built on the play of the secondary, Cleveland doesn’t have a whole lot of talent back there, and that has to be fixed this offseason.

Jaycee Horn falling to 26 is the dream scenario. He’d provide some size at 6-1, 200 pounds, but more importantly, would add some more man coverage ability to the CB group. Horn is a fiery competitor and wants to physically dominate every receiver he lines up across from.

He’s the kind of player who would be an instant fan favorite, not just for the attitude he plays with, but for the way he plays up to any competition. The addition of Horn would transform the Cleveland secondary and give the Browns two very good boundary corners.
