Tennessee Titans – Jonnu Smith, TE

The Titans have a lot of quality players hitting the free-agent market this offseason but none of them are truly great, yes I know what I said and I acknowledge that Jadeveon Clowney is a free agent and my statement still stands.

The guy that caught my eye on the defending AFC South champions list of free agents is the young tight end, Jonnu Smith. Smith, while being criminally underrated, is one of the best receiving threats that Tennessee has had in a while. He’s consistently gotten better and better every season and could see the field quite a bit in the two tight end sets that Stefanski runs.

His potential is one of the highest at the position, he could end up being a top-five player at his position after a year or two as the featured guy, and given the right opportunities, he could be elite. He’s already miles better than David Njoku and it’s really not even close. Having the opportunity to sign an up and coming player who’s already an instant upgrade over your depth pieces at a position that’s widely considered to be “the quarterback’s best friend,” is a no brainer move and he would fit right in.
