Cleveland Browns pick-a-player: Adding one free agent from each AFC South team
By Nick Swanson
Indianapolis Colts – Denico Autry, DE
On the football field, we see ageless wonders every year, in fact, one of them played in the Super Bowl. It’s rare that we see defensive players playing at such a high level into their thirties, but Colts edge rusher Denico Autry is one of those guys that is still able to produce consistently while at that age threshold.
Over the last five seasons, he has 25 total sacks, including 7.5 this past season. He was a key part of the success of the Colts defense the past few seasons and would be a valuable addition to this Browns roster.
He could teach Myles Garrett some tips and tricks that he’s learned throughout his years in the league as well as be a dangerous running mate across the line. Autry’s production is perfect for this defensive line unit and would only improve since the primary focus would be on Garrett. His addition would make this defensive line rotation even more dominant and could allow the team to focus elsewhere in the draft.
With defense being the biggest issue of the team, adding the experience that he brings will not only help those along the line but it would also help the guys in the locker room.
