The Daily Dawg Tags bring you all the Cleveland Browns news you need to know, including their chances of landing J.J. Watt in free agency

Even before he became a free agent, the Cleveland Browns were being linked to J.J. Watt. The former three-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year happens to play a position of need for the Browns, and could be exactly what they need to push their defense over the top.

Then last week, Watt requested his release from the Houston Texans and they agreed to let him go. That led to even more rumors that Cleveland could pull out all the stops to try and lure him to Northeast Ohio.

But how realistic is it to get Watt to join the Browns? He will have many suitors, including Pittsburgh where his brothers play, so it will be tough to convince him to join Cleveland.

That doesn’t mean it would be impossible, and Mary Kay Cabot’s latest article looks at how possible it is to land Watt. That story and more can be found in today’s Daily Dawg Tags.

What are the Browns’ chances of signing J.J. Watt? Hey, Mary Kay! — Mary Kay Cabot, Cleveland.com

"“I think Watt’s first choice would be to play with his brothers, T.J. and Derek Watt, in Pittsburgh. I think he’d probably even take a family discount to do so. But if the Steelers, who currently have a cap deficit of almost $30 million, can’t work out the money, I think the Browns will be right in the mix to sign him. They check off plenty of the boxes on Watt’s list for his new team.”"

In addition to the Steelers, the Green Bay Packers and Tennessee Titans are also expected to go after Watt. It won’t be easy, but he would be worth it.
