3.90. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Oklahoma. RonniePerkins. EDGE. player. 815

A developmental EDGE with plenty of upside, Ronnie Perkins flashes great burst and bend, and has some of the most violent hands in the class. His 6-3, 247-pound frame is just too weak to hold up on the edge full-time right now, so he can see the field on obvious passing situations until he’s bulked up.

With a veteran starter, the Browns can afford to wait for Perkins to develop. The potential of Perkins paired with the dominance of Garrett should be a nice pairing for a few seasons until Perkins hits free agency and nets Cleveland a nice third-round compensatory pick.

808. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. TalanoaHufanga. 3.92. player. ROVER. USC

Hufanga is a physical safety who has some development to do in coverage, but he’ll make an instant impact against the run while playing the ROVER role, moving around in the box and matching up with tight ends in man coverage. He would provide a degree of physicality that, of the Browns current defenders, only Sione Takitaki matches.

Hufanga has a flair for the splashy play and the big hit, and if he can improve his ability in coverage, could be an excellent chess piece in Joe Woods’ defense. If you consider him a pseudo-linebacker as a rookie, he’ll produce at a higher level than any traditional LB the team could realistically land would. Defensive coordinator Joe Woods knows where the NFL is heading defensively, and Hufanga is the type of player he needs.
