Cleveland Browns 7-round 2021 NFL mock draft J.J. Watt edition

Another long and athletic cornerback, Tay Gowan didn’t face the toughest competition, but he has practically all the traits you could ask for in a corner, and he stands 6-2 and 185-pounds. He’s the type of relatively unknown player who could easily go much higher than most expect because a team thinks they can get the best out of him.
Try to subdue that gag reflex; it’s the sixth round, and Justin Hilliard is very athletic. He drops in this scenario for a couple of reasons. He’s suffered multiple serious injuries and just doesn’t have a lot of snaps to judge.
He’s also quite a bit older than the average prospect since he spent six years on the football team because of those injuries. The Browns may not value the linebacker position highly (and for good reason), but they will need bodies in that room, and it’s better for those bodies to be able to run fast.
Cleveland’s wild goose chase for defensive backs ends in the seventh round. Four rookie CBs in one class may seem like a lot, but the Browns have just one corner who can be counted on in 2021, and that’s Denzel Ward. Wildgoose is a solid 5-11, 197-pounds with some very intriguing traits who could make a surprising impact as a rookie. In the seventh round, that’s great value.
This class wouldn’t fill all of Cleveland’s needs, but combined with some quality free agents (like a certain future Hall of Famer), the Browns would be well on their way to being serious Super Bowl contenders.
