Cleveland Browns pick-a-player: Adding one free agent from each AFC West team

Denver Broncos: Justin Simmons, Safety
The biggest hole that the Cleveland Browns have is in their secondary. A group that has been decimated by injuries over the past couple of seasons, there are several players that will hit the market that would solidify this defense. Broncos free safety, Justin Simmons, is one of them.
Simmons is an elite ballhawk that is versatile enough to play anywhere along the defense. He’s quick off the jump and has elite play recognition which can be seen if you’ve watched any Broncos games. Simmons is widely regarded as one of, if not the, best at his position.
The Boston College product’s career really took off at the end of the 2018 NFL season. In no time at all, he became the best in the league under Ed Donatell and now Chargers defensive coordinator, Renaldo Hill.
Simmons, one of the steals of the 2016 NFL Draft, has already recorded 16 interceptions and 385 tackles in his four years with the Broncos. With the revolving door that is Andrew Sendejo and the inexperienced and unproven Grant Delpit on the roster, Simmons will fit in nicely as the starter and mentor to Delpit as he could look to become more of a box safety, replacing Karl Joseph.
