3. Jamir Miller – Linebacker

Linebackers don’t always pan out to be worth all the hype ahead of free agency and Cleveland should know all about that. Some are definitely worth the risk if the price is right. Some come at a bargain. Some have minimal impact, while others have a big impact.

Jamir Miller was a big impact in his limited time with the Browns. Miller only spent three seasons with the Browns (99-01) but he made the most of it.

He spent the previous five seasons with the Arizona Cardinals, who drafted him 10th overall in the 1994 NFL draft out of UCLA. In his first season with the Orange and Brown, Miller accumulated 118 tackles and 4.5 sacks. This would be the start of a quality three seasons in The Land.

In the 2001 season, Miller’s final in the league, he had a sensational campaign. He had 101 tackles and a career-high 13 sacks. He also defended 14 passes and had 22 tackles for losses. He did this while playing both linebacker and defensive end.

His farewell season was good enough to earn a trip to the Pro Bowl, making him the first Cleveland player since the franchise’s return to do so. He would be the only Cleveland player to make it to the Pro Bowl until 2008 when a slew of guys made it after their 10-6 campaign in 2007.
