The Daily Dawg Tags bring you all the Cleveland Browns news you need to know, including Colin Cowherd debating Baker Mayfield’s value. Again.

Colin Cowherd was at it again. The Fox Sports pundit was again talking about Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield and this time, he was comparing him to other quarterbacks around the NFL, and deciding if he wanted Mayfield as the starter or the opposing QB.

Cowherd ended up picking nearly every other quarterback which included a range from Derek Carr to Matt Ryan to Lamar Jackson over Baker. While we can debate his selections of players such as Kyler Murray and Justin Herbert, his selections of players such as Ryan, Carson Wentz, and Jimmy Garoppolo were tough to swallow.

He did take Baker over Jared Goff and Ben Roethlisberger which made sense, but overall this felt like a one-sided game.

That story and more can be found in today’s Daily Dawg Tags.

Baker Mayfield or the Field? Colin Cowherd debates the Browns QB’s Value — Fox Sports

"“The rules are simple: for the next five years, who would Colin rather have as his franchise quarterback in the NFL between Mayfield and one of his contemporaries?”"

Again, this one feels weird. Cowherd was arguably right with some of the picks — such as Dak Prescott being over Baker and taking Mayfield over Big Ben — but there were some serious stretches as well.

Why Odell Beckham Jr. hasn’t worked in Cleveland and other burning questions the tape answers — Film Review — Ellis L. Williams, Cleveland.com

"“Watching Beckham versus the Bengals and Washington confirmed he’s still one of the quickest players in football. His releases make me jump out of my chair in excitement.”"

Williams breaks down the film and has several conclusions as to why OBJ has not been working out in Cleveland, and it doesn’t seem to be on No. 13. This is a great read, and is very enlightening — and encouraging when considering the prospects for 2021.

JJ Watt’s ‘mitochondria’ tweet sends Bills, Browns fans into free-agency theory frenzy — Joe Rivera, Sporting News

"“Watt is a free agent, having asked for and received his release from the Texans in February. His free agency has NFL fans hanging on his every word, hoping that the defensive end will sign with their team.”"

Watt’s tweet about a cell sent fans into a frenzy trying to decipher his words. Clearly, J.J. is enoying this and having fun with everyone. But if we are being honest, he also said “powerhouse” in his tweet and the Browns’ house is sponsored by a power company, so book J.J. to Cleveland.

Browns should definitely re-sign Rashard Higgins

Dan Gilinsky is a believer in Rashard Higgins and he thinks Cleveland needs to re-sign him this offseason.
