Two former Cleveland Browns are teammates in the Fan Controlled Football League

It’s 2021 and in the wake of the previously announced to be canceled XFL season, we have a new outlet of football coverage. The Fan Controlled Football League, or the FCFL, is an innovative new league where you, the fans, call the shots. An interesting idea that we’ve seen come to fruition, the league has gained popularity on social media platforms like Instagram and Twitter. Decisions are made by the fans adding a new interactive focus to the game.

The league consists of four teams, the Glacier Boyz, the Zappers, the Wild Aces, and the Beasts. One of the teams, the Zappers, has several names that fans may be familiar with. The ownership group consists of New York Mets pitcher Trevor May, Minnesota Vikings running back Dalvin Cook, social media sensation Bob Menery, and Ronnie Singh, aka Ronnie2K, of the NBA2K video game franchise.

The Zappers are also headlined by former NFL talent, specifically from the Cleveland Browns. Notable names include, recently signed, former All-Pro, Pro Bowl, and Super Bowl Champion wide receiver, Josh Gordon.

Gordon played for the Browns for six and a half seasons, with two years worth of suspensions in that time period. One of, if not the most dominant receiver the Browns franchise has ever seen reunites with his former quarterback, Johnny Manziel.

Manziel flopped in the NFL, only appearing in 14 games for the Browns, eight of which he started. Johnny Football then bounced around between the Canadian Football League and then to the Alliance of American Football, also known as the AAF in its very brief time of existence. Those two former Cleveland Browns are joined by training camp fan favorite, Damon Sheehy-Guiseppi (No word on if he lied to get a workout in the FCFL). Sheehy-Guiseppi never found his footing in the NFL before bouncing to the XFL and then the Spring League.

The Fan Controlled Football League started up on February 13, 2021. You can watch these former Browns players playing for the Zappers on the FCF’s Twitch page here.
