J.J. Watt is trolling us all as he hints that he could be headed to three teams, with the Cleveland Browns still being in the mix

Is the latest peloton bio update from free-agent star J.J. Watt a cryptic sign that the Cleveland Browns are still in play?

The star pass rusher requested his release just weeks ago from the Houston Texans and appears to have a strong market with reported offers of $15-16 million per year with nearly a dozen teams interested.

In his latest peloton update, Watt hints at the Green Bay Packers, Cleveland Browns, and Buffalo Bills being the final three contenders.

Is that list in the order of where things stand now? No one truly knows, but Browns fans have reason to believe there is still a shot at landing Watt.

There is no doubt that Watt wants to win a championship, but he will also want to be paid like the five-time, first-team All-Pro that he is. At age 31 and injuries in 3 of the last 5 seasons, the number shouldn’t be close to $20 million per year, but it is certainly going to be.

The fact that reports came out last week of $15-16 million per year offers, tells me that he is wanting more than that since he hasn’t signed yet. General manager Andrew Berry must think long and hard on how much Watt is truly worth.

The Packers would be a homecoming and a great chance to win now, while going to the Buffalo Bills may put him closest to a championship.

What do the Browns offer? If Berry can add Watt and another piece or two on that defense, the Browns also offer a great shot at a championship. Oh, and likely the most money of the other two teams which can’t be overlooked.

I believe the Browns are the highest bidders at the moment, but the Packers and Bills are likely not far behind with better rosters at this moment. If Berry could lure another free agent to show Watt the Browns are for real in 2021, Watt could end up calling the Browns home.

Let’s not get too excited, don’t look for Watt to make a decision until a few days after the league year starts on March 17th.

Update: Watt has since come out and said he doesn’t own a bike, so the original tweet was in jest. Still, it’s fun to think about being a contender for his services.
