83 potential free agency targets for the Cleveland Browns

2021 NFL free agency kicks off on March 17th, and the Cleveland Browns are sure to be busy. Here are 86 players the team may want to look at, including eight of their own free agents.

Browns free agents:

EDGE Olivier Vernon

Olivier Vernon may not be able to play until late next season because of the Achilles injury he suffered, but he was terrific down the stretch in 2020 and has been a valuable member of the locker room. A cheap one-year incentive-laden deal makes sense as a good-faith gesture to allow Vernon to rehab and then attempt to rebuild his value heading into 2022 free agency.

CB Terrance Mitchell, Money backer Karl Joseph

Mitchell and Joseph can both be quality backups at a position where you can never have enough players.

DT Larry Ogunjobi

Ogunjobi’s market will be very interesting. He’s been on a downward trend since his rookie year and played out of position last season. Upgrading is ideal, but there aren’t a ton of great replacement options this offseason.

K Cody Parkey

It’s not easy to find good kickers. Parkey might not be the best, but many teams have worse.

WR Rashard Higgins

WR KhaDarel Hodge

Both Higgins and Hodge routinely made big catches in 2020, and Higgins was the team’s best receiver. Higgins has also made it know he wants to be in Cleveland. It makes little sense to move on from either.

CB Tavierre Thomas

Thomas shouldn’t see the field on defense, but he’s one of the league’s very best special teamers.
