Cleveland Browns: 83-player comprehensive free agency target list
By Sam Penix
Defensive line
Seeking: large bodies, pass-rush ability
Sheldon Richardson is set to make over $13.6 million, which is not happening. He could be cut, or he could take a pay cut. Whichever cut ends up happening, the Browns need will need a replacement for either him, Ogunjobi, or perhaps both.
Here lies the space formerly reserved for J.J. Watt
Watt the heck man?
Leonard Williams
If the Browns were looking to make a non-Watt splash, Williams would be the way to do it. Swapping one former Jet for another would be interesting.
Kawann Short
Jurrell Casey
Both Short and Casey were great players during the later stages of the 2010s, and while age and injuries have caught up to them, they can still be effective pieces for the right price.
Solomon Thomas
A relative draft bust, Thomas has been played as an EDGE when he should be a DT. He could be a nice buy-low option that could benefit from a scheme change.
Jonathan Hankins
Adam Butler
A quality player, Butler could provide starter-level play at a discount.
Shelby Harris
Harris is one of the most underrated and most disruptive interior defenders in the NFL, and hasn’t made much money. That could change this offseason.
Sheldon Rankins
Mike Daniels
Daniels is certainly not the player he used to be, but as a (very) cheap backup, he could be effective.
Dalvin Tomlinson
Likely to be paid well, Tomlinson is a very solid run-defending one-tech with some pass-rush juice.
