Safety

Tre Boston

Boston has been one of the best coverage safeties in the NFL over the past few seasons, and struggled in 2020 as he was played out of position. As a rebound candidate, he makes a lot of sense for Cleveland.

Anthony Harris

Justin Simmons

Both Harris and Simmons will likely cost too much for the Browns, but perhaps the team values the free safety position more than other organizations.

Ricardo Allen

Jaquiski Tartt

Duron Harmon

A perennially underrated player, Harmon could play the intended Andrew Sendejo role, except probably better.

Jalen Mills

Malik Hooker

Much like Verrett, Hooker is a supremely talented player, but he’s had trouble staying on the field. On a cheap deal, he could be a great low-risk high-reward venture.

Keanu Neal

Marcus Maye

Marcus Williams

John Johnson

Another underrated player, Johnson is one of the league’s better box safeties, but he holds his own in deep coverage and in the slot as well. Versatility is required in Woods’ defense, and Johnson has it in droves.

Rayshawn Jenkins

Damontae Kazee

Xavier Woods

Are most of these players realistic? Perhaps not, but each one would be a positive addition to the Browns roster at the proper value. Keep an eye out for position-specific targets coming soon.
