3 Free agents at positions of major importance for the Cleveland Browns

The Cleveland Browns head into the 2021 NFL season just a few pieces away from being real contenders for a Super Bowl Title. After a disastrous 2019 season, first-year head coach Kevin Stefanski led the Browns to an 11-win regular season and notched the organization’s first playoff win since 1994.

Not only that, the Browns roster is flooded with young talent. Myles Garrett, Denzel Ward, Nick Chubb, Jack Conklin, Joel Bitonio, and Odell Beckham are just a few of the names that could start on nearly every team in the league.

For nearly the last decade the Browns have entered the offseason leading the league in cap space (and losses).  Well, all of that has officially changed in 2021. Cleveland still has $20-25 million to spend this offseason, but they must be mindful of other players that will need to sign extensions soon.

The Cleveland Browns may have one or two big signings in 2021, but the bulk of the build will now have to turn to the draft for financial reasons. While that’s a change for the Browns, that’s how most strong organizations already operate.

Have no fear, as general manager Andrew Berry has proven in the last year that he is creative in structuring deals and has an eye for spotting talent in the draft. Both will be crucial as the Browns look to close the gap on the rest of the field in 2021.

As the free agency is set to start on March 17th, Berry already likely has his eyes on a few top targets. It will be tough to land them all, but here are three targets that are perfect fits for the Browns. Not only does their skillset fit the scheme, but their personality will also fit the organizations.
