Pick Analysis. TrillWilliams. player. 827. Scouting Report. CB. Syracuse. 3

The recent news that Greedy Williams is back to health is very welcome for the Browns. Losing their top pick in the 2019 NFL Draft left them short in the secondary. Getting him back doesn’t negate the need for a cornerback but it does mean they don’t have to reach. That’s why they’re able to wait until the third round to add some depth.

Their selection ends up being Trill Williams from Syracuse, who doesn’t have the same hype as his teammate Ifeatu Melifonwu, but can still be a solid pro. He’s perfectly built at 6-foot-2 and 198-pounds and is also very physical.

Williams can play on the outside and is capable of both man and zone coverage. He won’t be a starter right out of the gate but can develop into one in the near future.

Larry Ogunjobi is set for free agency and it seems to be a forgone conclusion that he’s going to be playing elsewhere in 2021. Cleveland needs to replace him and while Jordan Elliott showed some promise, they need to continue to add depth and build competition.

Enter Alim McNeill from North Carolina State. Listed at 6-foot-2 and 315-pounds, McNeill is a big-bodied player who proved during his time with the Wolfpack that he could control the line of scrimmage and won’t be pushed around.

He’s a 1-technique, which means Round 3 might be a bit high, but considering he has the ability to log significant snaps at a position of need makes it worth the investment.
