Cleveland Browns get more explosive on both sides in 7-round mock draft
By Randy Gurzi
Cleveland had issues with health along the offensive line last season, which even led to them playing Blake Hance in their biggest games of the season, even though he had hardly met his teammates. Looking to bulk up their bench, they add Jack Anderson from Texas Tech with their fifth-round pick.
Tech isn’t exactly a hotbed for offensive line talent but Anderson is still worthy of being selected in the upcoming draft. He’s a guard-only prospect but can play in a pinch.
Another offensive lineman is added here as the Browns’ sixth-round pick is used to acquire Jaylon Moore from Western Michigan. Moore had 32 starts for the Broncos and excelled as a run blocker. His level of competition might not have been elite but the offensive line coach he would work with in Cleveland is.
Bill Callahan has worked wonders and he would be up to the challenge of getting Moore ready to replace Kendall Lamm (who is a free agent) as the fourth offensive tackle on the roster.
With their final pick in this mock, the Cleveland Browns land Manny Rugamba from Miami (OH). He started his career with Iowa before transferring to Miami (OH) where he was able to get more playing time and show off his ability as a nickel cornerback.
He was a much better player in 2019 than 2020 and the Browns take a flier on him here, hoping they can get him back to the player he was starting to become.
