The Cleveland Browns have reportedly re-signed offensive lineman Blake Hance.

Browns fans, get used to a guy named Blake.

One of the surprising heroes for the Cleveland Browns during the chaotic season that was the 2020-2021 NFL season was Blake Hance, who was not even a member of the Cleveland Browns organization until January of 2021.

Hance stepped into the organization and quickly found himself in a position of playing, going from a Jets practice squad player to on the field for the Cleveland Browns in only a few weeks. He was able to make the transition well and helped the Browns achieve their first playoff win in over 25 years over the Steelers.

His transition into the organization was so quick that he actually met Baker Mayfield in the locker room right before the game against the Steelers. Despite having all of the odds stacked against him, Hance was able to earn himself another contract off of his few snaps that he took in the playoffs.

For an undrafted practice squad player who had never played a snap in the NFL before, Hance clearly showed he deserves a chance in the NFL by being able to get himself prepared enough and be able to play well enough to earn another contract.

Greg Auman of The Athletic has reported that the Browns have re-signed Blake Hance to a two year contract.

Hance will likely be a cheap backup option for the Cleveland Browns moving forward, as the franchise looks to cut down on spending on backups. This could likely mean that Kendall Lamm, who is turning 29 this year, will likely not be returning to the Cleveland Browns.

Lamm is a quality backup offensive lineman, but he has proven that he deserves to be one of the higher paid backup offensive linemen in the NFL. With the Browns looking to constantly have a healthy cap situation, Lamm is one player that they can not re-sign and not take too big of a loss.
